Sooriya Rajeswaran binks the Players Champs for a massive $66,290! Itβs been a stellar year for Sooriya on the felt following a 4th place finish in the Kings Room Super Series Main Event in August, and a 1st and 2nd in the Main and Opening Events at WPTL in July.
A pivotal moment came on the final table when Uno Uka shoved with Qβ¦οΈTβ οΈ on a Kβ¦οΈ Qβ οΈ 9β¦οΈ 5β¦οΈ 8β οΈ board, putting Sooriya in the blender holding Qβ£οΈ9β οΈ for two pair. He burned through all four of his time chips before making the hero call in the dying seconds a move that changed everything.
That pot propelled Sooriya to a stack three times bigger than the next closest, and from there, he never looked back, dominating until he held more than half the chips in play five-handed. There was talk of a deal heads up with Anya Azimai, but neither were willing to give up the trophy so both decided to battle it out.
An outstanding performance and another huge score for one of Sydneyβs most consistent crushers!
